Friday:
4:00 p.m. Check in to the Hampton Inn Amelia Island Historic District. Rack up some Hilton points and say hello to Rory, one of the best concierges I’ve ever met. This is the only spot in the area with good parking as well.
6:00 p.m. Head towards the pier to watch the sunset. Walk all the way down and to the left for the best spot.
8:00 p.m. Check out the town. There’s good shopping at Lemongrass, The Dove Cote Brocante, and Colie’s.
9:00 p.m. Eat dinner at The Salty Pelican per Rory’s suggestion. Definitely get the shrimp and corn chowder, and definitely sit on the second floor if you can.
10:00 p.m. Real quick run to Fernandina’s Fudge for ice cream. It’s the best on the island!!
Saturday:
8:30 a.m. Take the 8:30 Power Yoga at Centred on Yoga. Get centered because an adventure awaits you.
11:00 a.m. Fuel up at Bright Mornings Cafe on right past Ash on 3rd Street. The Special was make your own omelette, and the coffee was perfect.
12:00 p.m. Head to Fort Clinch State Park. It’s $6 to enter, but completely worth it. Explore by bike if you can, but cars are also welcome. Hit the beach, fishing pier, or check out Fort Clinch. You really can’t go wrong and will get lost wandering for the rest of your stay.
